Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about how Tashkheesa works.
About Tashkheesa
What is Tashkheesa?
Tashkheesa is a medical second-opinion platform. Upload your scans, lab results, or test reports, and a board-certified specialist reviews them and sends you a written second opinion in 4 to 48 hours, depending on the urgency you choose.
Who reviews my case?
Your case is reviewed by a board-certified specialist in the relevant field. All Tashkheesa doctors are licensed in Egypt with verified credentials, hold senior consultant positions at established hospitals, and have substantial clinical experience in their specialty.
Is Tashkheesa a replacement for my doctor?
No. Tashkheesa is a second opinion service, not a replacement for your primary doctor. We help you make informed decisions about your care, but any treatment decisions should be made together with the doctor who treats you in person.
How it works
How long does it take to get a second opinion?
You choose your turnaround when booking:
- Standard: 48 hours
- VIP: 18 hours (priority surcharge)
- Urgent: 4 hours (urgent surcharge, available 7 AM – 7 PM Cairo time)
The exact surcharge for each tier is shown when you select it. If we miss the deadline you chose, we refund the urgency surcharge automatically.
What happens after I upload my files?
Once you complete payment, we route your case to the most suitable specialist available. They review your files, write a detailed second opinion, and you receive it as a downloadable PDF report. You’ll also get email and WhatsApp notifications at each step.
What types of files can I upload?
Most common medical file types: PDFs, JPG, PNG, DICOM (medical imaging), Word documents, and lab report images. Maximum file size is 50MB per file. If your hospital gave you a CD or USB with images, you can extract the files and upload them.
Privacy & security
Is my data secure?
Yes. All files are encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard security. Only the assigned specialist and authorized Tashkheesa staff can access your case. We never share your data with third parties without your explicit consent.
Who can see my medical information?
Only the doctor assigned to your case and a small number of senior Tashkheesa staff (for technical support and quality assurance). Your case is not visible to other doctors on the platform, and we do not share your data with insurance companies, employers, or family members without your explicit consent.
Can I share the report with my doctor?
Yes, absolutely. The PDF report is yours — share it with your treating doctor, family, or anyone you choose. Many of our patients use our reports as a starting point for conversations with their primary physician.
Pricing & payment
How much does a second opinion cost?
Prices vary by service complexity, starting from 920 EGP for simple reviews and reaching up to 14,950 EGP for comprehensive specialist consultations. The exact price for your service is shown clearly before you confirm payment. If you select a faster turnaround tier (VIP or Urgent), the surcharge is shown when you choose it.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Meeza, Fawry, and most major Egyptian payment methods through our secure payment provider. International payments (USD, AED, SAR) are also supported.
What if I don’t agree with the report?
If you have questions about the report or want clarification on specific points, contact us within 3 days and we’ll work with the reviewing doctor to address your concerns at no extra cost. If after that you still want a different specialist’s opinion, you can book a new case with another doctor.
Eligibility & coverage
Do you accept insurance?
Not yet — Tashkheesa is currently a self-pay service. We’re actively working with insurance partners and expect to support major Egyptian insurers within the coming months. If your insurance reimburses out-of-network medical consultations, you can submit our invoice for reimbursement.
Can I use Tashkheesa from outside Egypt?
Yes. Tashkheesa serves patients across the MENA region, including the Gulf, Levant, and North Africa. Reports are available in Arabic and English. International payment methods are supported, and pricing automatically adjusts to reflect regional differences.
